TV Converter Box Store

The following digital-to-analog converter boxes are compatible with older analog TV’s. If you’re television set has a sticker on it that says “HD Ready” or is capable of displaying high definition images the below converter boxes will also work but you may want to shop for an hd digital tuner which will convert your HD ready TV to show high definition video.

1. Magnavox TB110MW9 Digital-to-Analog Converter Box

The TB110MW9 is one of the most popular sold converter boxes, and with capability of converting an older TV set with the connection of one coax cable, it’s also one of the easiest. This box also has an input for RCA cables if your older TV set has the RCA (red, white, yellow) connectors on the back of it too for better image quality.

This box is sold with a remote control and a single coax cable for connecting your TV. All you’ll need in addition to this box is an existing antenna or a new dtv antenna.

2. Zinwell ZAT-970A Digital to Analog TV Converter Box

For a bit more cost, the Zinwell ZAT-970A offers the nicest on-screen program guide for viewing upcoming programming and tv show information. This box also offers the convenience of connecting to an older tv set with a single rf (coax) cord or RCA connection. Picture quality is comparable to the other boxes sold, but reliability ratings have ranked higher than the Magnavox TB110MW9.

One other considerable advantage this converter box offers is a event timer which adds the convenience of changing channels automatically during a set period. Having this capability allows a consumer to record different programs at different times if a VCR is connected to the converter box.

3. Access HD 1080D Digital to Analog TV Converter Box

Although the HD 1080D is the third most sold unit here on our site, there have been some reviews on this device that say it heats up if placed in an enclosed area. This unit does come with most of the goodies that a potential buyer would need to converter their television, including: connecting to TV via composite video or RF cable, Dolby Digital down-mixed stereo output, and remote control.

Current pricing on the HD 1080D puts it behind other converter box competitors who offer similar features and capabilities.

4. iview 2000STB 480i TV Tuner/Receiver

A relative newcomer to the DTV converter box industry in the past 2 years, the iview 2000STB is a great option for those that want a DTV converter box and a QAM tuner to receive basic cable channels. This is the only device in the bunch that offers such capability, although you must be a subscriber to basic cable service if you want to utilize the QAM tuner.

An area where the 2000STB excels is its electronic program guide (EPG) which offers one of the most extensive tv guide like experience we’ve seen.

5. Supersonic Converter Box SC55

Feedback on the SC-55 has been pretty good overall, especially compared to the Access HD1080D. This converter box offers all of the mandatory features that any analog television owner would need to convert their television set for DTV viewing.

The SC-55 is priced slightly higher than others in this group, but its solid reliability ratings make it a worthy option for TV owners who are looking to keep their older TV sets for a while.

6. Coby DTV 102 ATSC Standard-Definition Converter Box

With an exceptional program guide, the DTV 102 would rank higher on our list but at its current pricing level, its only an attractive option for those with a slightly higher budget. Users of this unit can view what’s currently on and the next program which is far more information than some of the lower quality converter boxes on the market.

The DTV 102 has rated well among buyers and comes with many of the standard features that other higher end units come with.
